On October 21, 2008, ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2008 plenary session was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, attended by more than 900 delegates from 96 countries. WTSA is the highest-level meeting of ITU Telecommunication Standardization, and held once every four years.
The General Assembly checked the results of research over the past four years, identified 10 ITU-T Study Groups and their function, improved the ITU-T working methods and procedures, made the Study GroupsĄŻ work plan for the next four years, and elected the administration board of the Study Groups. Metarnet Vice President Qifeng was elected Vice Chairman of the ITU-T SG12, prior to which Qifeng has been serving as Vice Chairman of the ITU-T SG4.
Qifeng of elected, is another important breakthrough of our company's work in the field of Telecommunication Standardization, and will have a profound impact for our company to expand international influence and enhance the overall strength. At the same time, our company will, as always, commit to the research work in the field of International Telecommunication Standardization, and make positive efforts to further promote China's participation at higher level ITU-T activities, and enhance our country the right of speaking in this area.
